Who we are, and how we work.
Platypus Media is a small, faith guided studio. We wanted this written down plainly, in one place, rather than something a client would only discover partway through a project.
Why we're sharing this
Most people who work with us will never need to read this page, and that's the point. We'd rather be upfront and gracious about where we stand than surprise anyone later. Writing it down once means we can be consistent, no matter who's asking.
What guides us
Zach, the founder of Platypus Media, runs this studio according to his Christian faith. That shapes the handful of projects we choose not to take on.
What this looks like in practice
There are a few categories of work we don't build, regardless of the client or the budget:
- Sites or content built around adult or sexual content.
- Marketing or graphic design promoting sexuality outside of marriage between a man and a woman.
- Messaging or campaigns advocating a pro-choice position on abortion.
- Similar projects that run counter to those convictions.
What this doesn't mean
This isn't a screening test for who we'll sit down with. We gladly serve business owners and clients across every range of belief and background, and the overwhelming majority of our work (local service businesses, restaurants, contractors, professional practices, nonprofits) has nothing to do with any of this. This page is about a short list of projects we've chosen not to build, not about the people who ask.
If we're not the right fit
If a project falls into one of the categories above, we'll say so plainly and kindly, and where we can, point you toward another agency who's a better fit. We'd rather have that conversation upfront than partway through a build.
